For the last five years, I have been making simple and imperfect pottery shapes. Here you can see a small selection of my artworks. Learning to make pleasant, long-lasting shapes takes years. I still consider myself a beginner. Pottery has taught me how to be patient and comfortable with unpredictable and sometimes undesirable results.
Once I started to make my own functional everyday pieces, the simple act of eating and drinking quickly changed.
Similar to Shinto religion, for me, each piece is inhabited by supernatural entities. Shinto focuses on adapting to the pragmatic requirements of life. I too choose to do so, by consuming what nourishes me, in beautiful mystical vessels.
